home recording
I am now using a four track analog recorder, creating a wav file through the free version of audiograbber, and making cds...I can of course manipulate the volume of each track before converting to a wav file but does anyone know any software(free if available)that I can use to add effects to individual tracks before creating the wav file.

You'll need a multi track program, so you can load each track individually into your pc, and then mix them together. Otherwise you can simultaniously record the 4 tracks with a 4 track sound card like the delta 44, ...
cool edit pro (adobe audition) is a nice program, but it's not free, you can use the shareware version, which is 21days limited (i suppose). greetzz

Or you could try Pro Tools Free. Download it on the digidesign website.
