I listen to music and hear samples from songs (ex: taking the chorus from a rock song , and placing it into a rap song) How can this be done? Are there any tutorials that explain this process? I am using Cakewalk & Fl Studio do I need additional software or hardware? Also would I need just the vocals of the song that I want to sample? I'm totally confused. Sirflex10 = Idiot

let me guess what you mean
you wanna take vocals from already mixed song, or made song, and then mix them vocals with your own beat. well thats not possible maybe if u got high tech equipment it is but you dont only one thing you can do maybe mess with equalization and maybe put some frequencies down like, but you ll still hear the other beat so if your beat is stronger meaning more powerful, it might be ok but I wouldnt recommend not doing that. |

if you really need them and it's a popular song, search for the "a cappela" of the song (you get only the vocals). but they're harder to find than instrumentals, i'd say.
from the songs already mixed together, you can't, like joki said. |

There is actually a machine that seperates a beat from vocals, an engineer at skyline studios was telling me about it, big bucks though.. ima see if i can find what he was talking about..
