soundcard????? Help please

Thank you to all the help everyone has given me on PC's

I have a question?
an aadrvark ark24 runs about $550.00.
I just found a soundcard at guitar center for $199.00.
It is an EWS88D Digital Audio Soundcard
Can anyone tell me why the difference in price.

Or-This:
I record with my band live direct into an 8-track MD-Data recorder.
I want to record with my computer with the same ability. Any suggestions?

I am sorry if this is a stupid question. I am just now trying to figure out how to set up my computer. This whole soundcard thing is very confusing.

a couple of methods to consider

1. send a bed tracks mix out of your current digital recorder to
the PC DAW without lead instruments, and overdub after. or
2. its expensive , but buy something like an rme sound card to record all 8 tracks at the same time to the PC as seperate tracks.
a word of caution. check with the sound card support people that your daw and chipset is compatible.
