Question mOtu 828 w/ PC & Cakewalk!

I just bought a motu 828 i use a pc my partner in the studio uses mac i got the motu so we can both use it, i was expecting to use digital performer but i didnt even realize that was for mac. is there anyone out there that uses a motu with cakewalk and could you tell me how it works? for overdubbing, multitracking, etc.

If anyone has had issues or knows tips or has suggestions on useing the motu + 8bus 0r 4 bus mixer + firewire PC & cakewalk please put them here!

Any ideas with what intergrates best with cakewalk as an editor or mastering program that has great plugins or faster more accurate editing, and or AUTOMATED mixing?

I haven't used one myself, but I hear it works just like any other multi I/O card: Just perfect!

Sonar takes care of the automated mixing, so whatever you use, there's no problem in that area. In the high-scale of editors you'll find Wavelab and SoundForge. I suggest you try them both and find one that suits your needs and wallet...

howdy scrutinizers! im haveing some trouble linking the motu with cakewalk, its not monitoring befor i record so i cant see if there is signal going through, it wont record either but it comes up in the input and output with 1/2 left 1/2 right 1/2 stereo, 2/3..... etc. i just dont understand what to set the input and outputs on so i can overdub and monitor,

this is all for a community art and music studio located at 662 bleeker st utica ny 13501 anyone nearby is more than welcome to come and see what we are creating.

i am familiar with this program a bit but never did direct multi track recording with it.

can you set it up so to control the individual in/outs seperateley and save the automation of pans and effects in the folder with the files so you can open them up with the sound files "is that with the bundle file"?

thanks fer yer help out there!

ps
all us damn redneck hippies need to be particimapating in the ritualistic event involving washing yer boots rid of all the doody we be recording fer the sake of musical culture, before its too late.
