What Boss unit do you have? What exactly are you trying to accomplish with the mixer? Inputs? Actually mixing recorded tracks?

Yes, you'd hook it up to the line in, but you'll still only get two tracks of simultaneous record. In other words, no matter how many inputs your mixer has, you've only got a single stereo input on the 532.

right. You're limited by the 532's inputs. You could still combine a bunch of mics on a drumkit down to two tracks if you wanted, though.

OK. You have what , 10-12 mic pre/inputs on that mixer? Well the 532 only has the capability of recording two tracks at a time. That is to say, the Left channel of the line in, and the Right channel of the line in. So you would have to mix all the mics down to a two bus into the 532.

oh well since that pretty much defeats the purpose of me buying the mixer i might just sell my 4-track and save up some money and buy a nice sound card, because i have recording software on my pc
