388 question

so i plan on recording my band rehearsal, and the extent of this machine has been me doing all the tracks myself. so this is a little different to record all this live.

i was thinking

input:
1. snare
2. kick
3. overhead
4. overhead
5. guitar
6. bass
7. vocal

but i don't really know what to assign (the buss) each track too, as last time i tried i blew a fuse.... any ideas or help?

Im confused a little here Why do you need to buss anything if that is all you are going to record?
Also if you blew a fuse then I would be looking at some kind of problem with the recorder.
Could you of maybe had to many things like guitar amps and pa power amps and the recorder running off of the same circuit in the house? If so get an extension cord,(some thing decents size minimum 16 gauge and run the recorder off a differant outlet in the house.
Also I would places things like Bass guitar and kick on outside tracks like 1 and 8 What i would do is put

1 kick pan left assign use Buss 1 2
2 snare pan right use Buss 1 2
3 overhead pan left use Buss 3 4
4 overhead pan right use Buss 3 4
5 guitar pan left use Buss 5 6
6 vocal pan right use Buss 5 6
8 Bass guitar pan right use Buss 7 8

I hope that makes sense

Can we assume the fuse you blew is connected to Channel/Track 8?

You should find something to put on Track 8.
