No, the Loop-view or Loop Explorer isn't a editing tool. You need to do that in the Track View.

Or, if you have an external editor, you can hook it up to the Tools-menu. Then select the clip, go Tools -> "Your editor" and the clip automaticly opens up in that editor. Then edit, save, close the editor and switch to HS. HS will tell you that you have done some changes to the clip and clicking "yes" will load up the edited clip.

SoundForge automaticly pops up under the Tools menu.

You need to use the horizontal and vertical Zoom tools in Track View to do fine editing of audio.

You can also use the min/max button on the track for quick vertical zooms.

However, as moskus indicates, Sonar (and HS I imagine) are not the greatest wave editors in the world. However, the good news is you already own them and they don't cost any additional $.

He was refering to HS. You can edit in the program, so you don't need an extra editor.

But it would help alot, if you do a lot of editing!

I like SoundForge, others like Wavelab.

If you'd like some cheaper ones, then check out GoldWave.

And if you want a free one, try Audacity.
