i was wondering if any of you had an opinion on this. For $250 not. inc. shipping i can get my Fostex B16 rec/play, and erase heads relapped, and then the recording mechanism optically realigned.. is this a good price?

I really don't know if anyone around hear can help you with that question, but a lot of us know that it's extremely important. I really have no idea what the market for that is, but $250 doesn't seem like too much for techi work.

That sounds like a very good price!
as long as your heads are relapable! You will essentially have a brand new machine. Now just take care of those new heads, by cleaning and demagnetizing every day, and you will have a nice analog setup..... one I wish I had! Jrf?
You did not say the vendor.... Should it be JRF magnetics you cannot go wrong and $250 sounds quite affordable for what you get from them.
Or you could do it yourself ![]() --Ethan
