Best bang for buck stand alone 8 track???

I am running up against the limitations of my VS880 only being able to record 4 tracks simultaneously.

I am looking towards a rackmountable (portable) stand alone 8 track.

I can get a DA-88 for $200-$300 possibly but they normally seem to go for more and ADATS are real cheap now but seem to have a bad rap around here.

I was also considering something like a VSR880 or a Fostex D90.

Any thoughts.........I cant afford not to go used and am looking for good medium-term bang for buck (ie a few years).

thanks

-mike

You said it....go with a used VSR-880 from Ebay. Rack mountable and you can synch up your VS to the VSR for twelve simultaneous tracks.

I have had mine for a few years and don't even use all of the features. Just a straight eight track hard disk recorder with pretty good sound quality.

Good hunting.
