I'v been recording rock music on my computer for a couple of years, and and now thinking about these Fostex MR8 ( and other inexpensive units like them) and wondering just how much better my recordings would be. The equipment i use now is: Hp 800MHZ/Stock sond card/Behr Mixer/various mic's/ Pro audio 9/Sound forge 6.0. A review or just some comments from someone who owns one of these units would be very helpful
Thanks. I can use my cd burner on my exsisting computer right? |

I know nothing about the sound card you mentioned, but if a PC is configured nicely, then there'd be no sonic advantages to getting an MR8.
Mind you, I love the standalone recorders, and use a VF160, but if you don't need portability, and your PC is stable, then stay with a PC. |

PC or standalone recording is mostly a question of what you like. I hate recording on PC's, I can't stand it, it's like fighting an uphill battle. You have to force the stupid programs into submission.
