A monitors forum would be nice.

Talking

Happy Thanksgiving:

As I was looking at some links/sites the other day, I stumbled on to a site that laid out a step by step process set-up dealing with the Yamaha 4416. Since it is similar to the 2816, I learned a bit more.

I don't know why the manuals don't follow the same simple photo/text example instructions to illustrate the features of the Yamaha or any other HD. Must be the engineers who may write these manuals have little experience in writing coherent instructions.

Anyone who owns a Yam HD or any of the others, knows that ambiguity and "lack of sequence or steps" of how to do something, like put the reverb on track six for example, are needed in owners' manuals.

So, maybe we do need a couple additional forums where more simple direction will help all concerned.

More Forums?

I think there should be a strictly metal forum on here so us lunatics can get together and hurt each others ears with our noise pollution. Nevermind there is only like 5 of us. But seriously i think a couple forums could be added. That would be cool.

I concur, but change it to a power metal forum.

Since you brought it up...

In addition, it'd be cool to see the dj/rap/hip-hop forum reduced to just rap & hip hop, & a separate dj/mixing/scratching forum. That'd include "space" for CD jockeys as well as software mixers and the like. I dunno how many djs check this bbs, but for those that do, I imagine if they aren't into rap or hip-hop they've got no incentive to check shit out - not to mention nothing to read behind 2000 "check my tracks out" threads (and there's really nothing to help cats who wanna learn how to burn on the wheels)...

for what it's worth.

Cheers to that.

Wouldn't this thread be better off in the Vistor Feedback forum?

We should also have a seperate forum for channels 1-8, 9-16, 17-24 etc. Also seperate forums for busses and aux sends. Oh and one for the power switch.

Funny.

I'll just take what I can get. "C" is for cookie, that's good enough for me.

I want a forum for Barry Manilow and Barbara Streisand type of music. Maybe even Celine Dion. Something totally opposite of guitar crunching music.

What???

Just so you guys understand there will most likely be no new forums because the site owner is not that involved and won't let anybody else change anything.

People have been asking for different forums for years.

I'd vote for a DIY forum... it'd be fun to share homebuilt mic pre instructions, class A amp instructions, monster kick drum mic (made with a speaker) instructions, and whatever else people were interested in building...

Well Im just hoping it will happen!

One thing is we have got to try to do this cause I love this site!
If we get enough people involved, It might happen!
So keep voting and make it loud and proud like that power metal forum!
If not we may need to move on to make our own deal. I hate to say that.

Cool

I love this site also!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

however,
just as one may need a few guitars to handle all his tonal needs, you may need more bbs's to handle your forum needs.....for instance:

http://www.recordingproject.com/bbs/index.php

has a few of the forums you mentioned and more.....

i was just about to say the same thing gidge did

it seems like alot of our key posters have already made there way over to that site. Ive noticed that the forums aren't moving as fast over here. The mixing clinic seems to be hurting the most. I really don't like the idea of having to read through multiple BBS's. Its to bad that dragon isn't involved enough to let this site grow to its full potential.
