788 CD upgrade charges

I took everyones advice and called Tascam parts department and asked about upgrading my 1.X firmware to 2.04 via CD.

They told me that the charge is 29.99 unless I can prove I bought the system in the past year (I cant).

So, I had to order it...dang.

I have to believe that after the ugrade is successful, the CD will be marked by the system so that it cannot be used again, preventing me from 'ummm....."sharing" it with another user.

I will check it out and see.

By the way, another thread mentioned ordering an EPROM update to fix a SCSI problem...they are on backorder for at least another week.

I'm pretty sure you can use that CD again.
