Ive got it down to 3.....need help
Ok here is what Im down to as far as buying my first condensor mic.
Behringer B1 Studio Projects B1 Marshall Electronics V57M You all know the prices and whatnot But Ive only sang through the Behringer B1 mic and I liked it alot. I cant seem to find Studio Projects stuff for sale anywhere...are they going out of buisness? And lastly the marshal mic is only 69.00 at zzounds.com that seems cheap so I just wondered if anyone here has it and if they like it. REally I just wanna hear from anyone here that has any of those mics above and would like to chime in on there pro's cons in general. Also where in the hell on the web sells the Studio Projects stuff? I cant find anyone reputible. |

All three of them are almost the same, Studio project B1 is a little warmer to me.

Juh... juh.... juh.... junk.
Save up another $50 and buy a Sennheiser e855 or 865 or something. At least it has good guts. Or a Beyer M88. Something PREDICTABLE. A really good dynamic can kick the shit out of a lousy condensor. I say save, and buy one of those when you need a talkback mic. Paul

You can get the Studio Projects line at a BUNCH of online dealers.
My favorite is www.humbuckermusic.com Tom

Hey Tube
Are you experienced with the mics he mentions? A good dynamic like the M88 will cost a lot more and is btw a very different animal. A dynamic works very different from a condenser and you know that don't you? |

Studio Projects can be easily had at 8th Street Music, to name one dealer. MXL can be had there too, I believe, and also at Musician's Friend. |

I'm well aware of the differences between a dynamic and condensor
Still, they all do the same thing, and thats convert audio into a signal and send it somewhere.I say stay away from the v67 for primary use, and the 57 too for sure. The B1 I cant make a call on never heard it but I can only imagine. The C1 isnt too bad though, herd some really respectable stuff come from one of them. And while you're at it, stay away from humPuker music. Jake is a weasel like no other I have ever met. Total POS. Honestly, try fullcompass if you want Studio Projects OR MXL. Joel Pare is a great guy to work with and gives great deals. you can ask for him there. Or try 8thstreet.com. Anywhere but humbucker. Peace.

There are many reputable internet sites that sell Studio Projects equipment, and some of them, like 8th street, have brick and mortar stores also - just not a national chain with a store close to you. Many sites during this season have free shipping for purchases over $100 or $200, aqnd you aren't charged sales tax. I've dealt with 8th street, sam ash and musicians friend in the past with satisfaction. BPM Music https://fire.he.net/~bpmmusic/bpm-bi...s:3527.15051:N apparently has free shipping for orders over $50. |

You really should audition all the mic's before you buy one... however, I don't think any reputible music stores carry the 797 Audio/Studio Projects mic's other than only a few online internet stores have them... and I'd never buy a mic I can't audition first again. |

I can buy SP mics at 3 brick and mortar stores that I know about right here in Kansas City, and we're not exactly a "major" market. If you do some calling, I'm sure you'll find a store near enough to drive to that has them in stock.

Don't buy any mic's without auditioning them first unless you have money to throw away. |

If you are going to buy a mic you are going to replace anyway get the CAD m37 they are cheap sound okay on most voices and when you get a good mic they work well on drums and cabs
