Mounting mic inside a mask.
A friend who's a singer in a band came up with this idea (he stole it from Mike Patton actually) to mount a microphone inside of a protective mask. He then connects it to a guitar amp to get the distorted sound. The problem is that he gets feedback from hell even at very low volumes. I thought using a miniature microphone would be better instead of the cheapo radio schack type of mic he's using now, but I'm not sure. DPA's aren't actually cheap, and they're omnis which I guess would increase the feedback even more.
Any ideas or input is welcome ![]() Roger |

Well first off you are going to get the most clostraphobic sound you have ever heard by putting a mic inside a mask.......have you ever heard the sound of your own voice when you talk with a mask on?
But if thats part of what you want.....then forget what I just said..... But guitar cabs are not the place to look for humless distortion. You need a vocal processor for that. And even then you are going to get a good dose of feedback.
