US 224 input problem

Yesterday I lost all input signals on myTascam US 224's XLR and line inputs. The leds dont light up at all with trim set to max.

The unit has power and plays back without any problem.

I have checked my input mikes and cables and they are fine too. I was using my Rode NT 1 with the unit for the first time, via an external phantom power supply. It was later afterI unplugged and then reatached the mike cable that I stopped getting an input signal. Surely reconecting a mike phantom powered mike to the soundcard wouldn't blow something?

Is there anything other than component failure that may cause a problem like this? (perhaps software related?) I have reinstalled both the Tascam unit and my Cubase VST software but the problem remains.

Any advice will be apreciated. I am currently in South Korea, and with the demise of Tascam's support forum :-( I'm not sure what to do.

I would hate to send the unit back to the States for repair, and then find that there was a simple fix.

Thank you

Sorry, I can't really help, but I've had the same problem. My input A doesn't even work at all. I see the signal lights, but no sound. One time nothing worked consistently and I changed USB ports and now it always works, except for input A.

And, Cubasis only works half the time. Sometimes I can record, sometimes I can't. Very frustrating.

If you find some help, let me know too!

Good Luck!

A mic with phantom power should only be plugged in with the power off to avoid damage.
