SR-16 as Sequencer - Home Recording

Hi....I am a little bit lost when it comes to sequencing. If I buy an SR-16, can I use it to sequence the music I make from my keyboard? I dont have it hooked up to my computer, and I dont know a lot about sequencers. Can anybody help shed some light on this? thanks a lot.
