Question for DJs

WHen making a dance track should I stay within a certain tempo range and if so, what is that tempo range.

Dance tracks usually have a four beat to the measure bass drum. How important is this or, should that be left to re-mixing.

I am working on a remake of an old song.

What suggestions would a DJ give to hlep me make the track compatible with the rest of the material DJs generally play.

I could use some help to make this track more dance oriented.

Depends on the genre.

EastCoast hip hop
Down south hip hop
r&B
Westcoast ? ??

Find a popular song thats close to yours and that should be a good tempo starting point.
