"Off The Meter" first RM1x track

I said I'd post it so here it is, my first beat using the RM1x to sequence. It's another 6/4 track called "Off The Meter".

I'd like to get some feedback on the mix if possible. I'm trying to improve.

I quite like it.

Reminds me a bit of that "Renaissance" track you did.

I'm not a pro in mixing so you'll probably need to get feedback from someone else other than me.

But I thought the mix sounded fine.

I liked this track a fair bit - not as good as some of your others IMO, maybe a bit too similar to some of them or something like that.

I like the change up a lot.

Overall, pretty good track as far as I'm concerned.

Well this track makes me mad in a way....wtf ever happend to
our collaboration on team 2? lol Anyways .. so this shit is slamming ..this one is by far my fav out of all the one's i've heard..
well this one and that "another day" joint.. but my mixing critique
is not a pro one by a long shot but with my lil shitty monitor's and
sub it mos def sounds like it is mixed very well...i feel that if an emcee jumped on it that the melody could be turned down a hair.. unless it was some savage Cat with a real raspy ass voice but other than that shit's dope and maybe some day we'll get our collabo going.. Peace

Just from a mix standpoint........maybe drop the beat until the strings and the other thing are done in the intro? Then when the beat comes in it would be a nice facelift of sorts.

Yeah, it sucks that it kind of fell apart. I'm trying to get into doing some different production styles (chopping and remixing) right now, but I'm down to donate any one of my tracks to the cause.

Meter...If I was a Rapper... I'd have to holla at you for this one. This shit is hot. I love the bass work. I always admired your instrumentation an the same goes here. WHoa! ill crossover at the bridge at 2:13.


Renaissance is cool. nice basswork. your trademark i think is your string work. Always lots of feeling.

I gotta say this for the record. Stray has some of the illest instrumentation that you'll find on any of the hip hop boards.

Thats what i admire about cats like you, Mr Sol, and Lazi. Ya'll aint scared to go past the basic ingredients(ie.bass, drums, strings and guitar and 4/4 signature) that other cat around here (including me) stick to.
