Question

I am having trouble recording in mono from my direct pro from inserts 2 and 4 onto n track. They record in stereo but that doesn't allow any panning after the recording. Inserts one and two work fine. I have temporarily gotten around the problem by recording stereo to 2 mono tracks which ends up giving me a mono recording onto the R channel and nothing on the left (which I don't understand) I am also having difficutly recording and playing back in 24 bit despite registering for the 24 bit version. Please help!

Welcome Charlie,
Have you tried clicking on the settings button in the recording vu-meter window and selecting mono? Then select 24 bit in the same window. Before playing back tracks, make sure that you select 24 bit playback in the playback vu-meter window, as well. Otherwise it plays back real slow and gives more problems.
You may have already tried these things, but thats all I can think of right now.

Oh, and also remember to select 44100 hz or higher sampling rate in file/preferences/recording settings in ntrack, and also make sure its the same sampling rate in your aardvarks mixer control window. I usually use 44100 hz.

Thanks for the help, but I had already those ideas. Like I said, the setup works fine for the 1 and 3 inserts, but 2 and 4 simply wont record in mono. So now I am wondering just how this thing is going ot record 4 inputs at one time
