Getting a new guitar

Hey guys, Ive never posted in this part of the forum but Im looking at getting a new guitar and I figured you expert musicians might be able to help.

Right now Im banging on a classical guitar and it doesnt sound too good so Im looking at buying a econimcal replacment.

I was looking at this guitar http://www.zzounds.com/item--YAMF310VP
Its a pretty good deal and I think it has a pretty decent sound. I went to guitar center and I played a guitar that they said was "similar" and I thought it had a really nice full sound to it.

what do you guys think?

When it comes to guitars, "similar" narrows it down to being within a row of football fields. Subtle differences can be found within the same brand and model. Point being, your best bet is to play several guitars to find the one that plays and sounds the best to you.

What Lambo said. The biggest problem with cheap guitars is quality control. If you're looking for a cheap guitar, go to a humongous guitar store and play a bizzillion cheap guitars. Buy the one you like. Not another one in a box, but the one you played and liked. No 2 will be exactly the same.-Richie

Ronin, what's your budget on a new guitar. That's if you ain't bought one yet. You might expand your choices a little, for few dollars more, and get a nicer box.

I dont want to go over 150. I mean, Id love to drop 800 bucks on a guitar but it just isnt possiible.

I really like this deal because its got a case, strap and all those other nice things with it that Id have to normally pay for seperatly.

When it comes to low cost guitars, Yamaha probably gives you more bang for the buck than any other guitar company. In that price range, that is probably a good deal.

shredfit is an unknown quantity at this point
I agree, if 150 is all you got it's gonna be really hard to beat the Yamaha in the cheap vs. quality catagory.
