I'm pretty sure it is . . . unless you bypass it. You'd have to get special cords and/or converters for it, though.

I wouldn't recommend the vtb1 with a Soundblaster, by the way. It's a bad match. You mit need a speshal adapter for that 2. Just trying to warn u. My friend got one of those and it didn't work. make sure you wear the grounding wrist bands when you install your VTB-1.

Yeah, the internal preamps aren't great.

Chess is right about the VTB-1. It just wouldn't go with the Soundblaster. VTB's work pretty well with most Turtle Beach and Voyetra sound cards, but you already got the Soundblaster (which is okay, 'cause the Soundblaster is better).

Go with the Bellari tube, or wait a few weeks and see what the reviews say about the new Rolls dual tube pre (it's a little more expensive, but it has two channels).

Also, Chess, the grounding wrist bands are only required for the installation of the card. However, if he's planning on running an external pre into the Soundblaster, he will need to ground both units. This can be easily done by winding a few turns of copper wire to the ring of the TRS output cord, and winding the other end in between the 1/4" to 1/8" adapter into the soundcard.

Alright you boos and ghouls (boys and girls):

Y'all get five more posts of fun, and then I'm telling him.

Nothing justifies buying Bellari, not even fun.

Oops.

Yea, but the grounding wires need to attached to the female end of the positive side flux valve, so he'll have to start all over again if the flux valve fluctuates at the inputs of the grounding wires out of phase. I was just trying to save the poor guy some time, here.

Chess, I can' t believe you didn't know that the latest flux valves have automatic phase sensing. If you hold the soundcard up to the light (not a flourescent one or you'll damage the overflow throughpass resistor) and gently rotate it you can make out the slightly raised ridges on the downside gate of the valve. I believe this was introduced as standard in 1948.

HOTTTSAUCE: my advice to you: log off. Buy one of the books Bluebear recommended to you months ago. Read it. Get a new nickname, come back here and start all over again. This sport is starting to get way too much fun. Because that SOundblaster Audigy is going to overload your Dell motherboard, and give you the sweetest sounding tube overdrive your ears have ever heard.

No, first it's the mic. Then the preamp. Then comes the sound card and computer. It's a very predictable pattern, so the mic would have to come next. Unless he decides to double-post the question about the soundcard.

I looked for the bellari, your talkin about the channel strip right? $200 one right? The blue one, cuz if not i don't know which your talkin about.

Alright, hottie, the jig's up. It's been fun and entertaining, but it's time to come clean. You've just been f 'in with all of us. You just gave yourself away, and I'm not going to tell you how I know, but I know now. You've been playing us, and you've been good at it.

Congratulations for making us all look silly trying to answer this "hottsauce" guy's silly questions.

Maybe you could start by revealing your other handle to us -- the one we'll be more likely to know and recognize you by.

Cool

Is it because he's F-I-N-A-L-L-Y decided, and he knows that I'll reply with a frantic, "No, no, I was just kidding you man! Don't do it! Bellari sucks, the NT1 sucks, Soundblasters suck, and copper wire is useless."

(except to tie up a gas station clerk while you empty the register for studio money, but that's another flame, another hip-hop specific flame at that)

And then I'll say, "Get an ME-1NV and an SM7."

And then someone else will say, "Dude, you should get an RNP and a T3."

And then someone else will say, "Get a VTB1 and a C1. They're just as good."

And then someone else will say, "Get a DMP3 and bla-bla-bla. . ."

And then he'll start 7 new threads, one for each unit mentioned.

And he won't ask for opinions, he'll just want us to tell him exactly what to buy.

And the game will begin anew. . .

(of course, all of this is under the troll assumption)
