I'd probably start with an EV RE20 and go from there.

Whatever mic you use, make sure it doesn't contain weapons of mass destruction ... 'cause we've seen how dubya reacts to even the "thought" of WMDs lying around.

I believe that the SM57 has been the standard "podium" issue mic for the president.

However, Bush deserves to have an Telefunken u47 shoved up his ass.

That is far too nice of a microphone for that. I think the Shure SM 55 would be much better, particularly because of the ridges on the sides of the mic.
