I have an '83 Ibanez Roadstar Bass that has 24 frets and active electronics. It was made in Japan and is built like a tank.. it'll last forever. It plays and sounds awesome.
You can still find 'em pretty cheap on Ebay. Here's a couple of them... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=38080 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=38080 |

I've always wondered... Is there actually a bass player that uses those 23rd and 24th frets?
I must be listening to the wrong kind of music for that.. |

I picked up a pristine Yamaha RBX765 + Gigbag from a dealer for $310. 5-string, two PU, active electronics, 24 frets.

Along with Jaco and Les, yes... I'm finding myself wanting to learn these songs to get better at this stuff, and it's rather difficult when you can't play a lot of the material lol... |
