MrSong is on a distinguished road
DirectX and issues

Since Sonar3 is out and about, I was able to purchase Sonar 2.0XL at much more reasonable price for my pocketbook. But I'm running into problems I don't understand:

1. I had went to Microsoft's website weeks ago and downloaded DX 9.1 and installed.

2. When I put the Sonar CDRom in the drive, it keeps telling me I don't have DX 8.1 (duh) and will attempt to install it. Then it tells me to restart. So when I restart, I try to reinstall Sonar and it starts all over again, stating I need to install DX 8.1. But I just did.

Q1- shouldn't DX9 suffice?
Q2- how can I see where any DX is installed on my system (WinXP)

Thanks folks-
C
