cmi8737 wave driver for Windows

The Quick Start Guide for ProTools Free advises to make sure that "Windows wave drivers" are installed for my sound card. I did install the drivers for my card and the following happily showed up in my Device Manager:

C-MediaPCI Audio Legacy Device
Closed Caption Decoder
CMI8738/C3DXPCI Audio Device
DOS mode MPU-401 Emulator
Gameport Joystick

But how do I know if these satisfy ProTools Free's definition of "Windows wave drivers"?

Chris

P.S. How do I create a new thread that is not under a sub-heading? I only get the 'new thread' button when I click on an existing thread, which of course means that I am creating a thread in a sub-heading (microphones, in this case).
