Cakewalk HS 2004 and DRmkit from hell

How do I use drum mapping using cakewalk and as the drumkit from hell as my drum source? Drum mapping on cakewalk uses MIDI while the drumkit is in WAV format. Sorry about this newbie question. I have both delta 44 and audiophile soundcard

You need a sampler such as the DR-008 by fxPansion (or VSampler, Kontatk, etc) to load the drumsamples into. Then goto the DFH homepage and download the drum-map for your specific sampler.

Jerb,

I have purchased the Drum Kit from Hell and I use the DFH wave samples in Fruity Loops. I create all my drum tracks in Fruity loops, then I import my drums into cakewalk. Very easy.

Good Luck.

Question

I have heard people mention that they do certain things in Fruity Loops and then import them into Cakewalk. Why, for instance do you create your drum tracks in Fruity Loops and not in Home Studio directly? Do you get a better quality? And how does Drumkit from Hell fit into all of this?

Sorry for the seemingly stupid question, but inquiring minds need to know. Plus I am a realtive newbie and I am not familiar with all of the plug ins, programs, etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

No!

Some people just like it for sequensing their drum tracks. Don't ask me why...

It's just wave files. You can play the samples from anything you like, even the Windows Sound Recorder.

You should check out the DFH homepage for more information and tips on how to use it.

rguagenti,

I use fruity loops to write my drum tracks. Why? Well, its just so damn easy to use. I think Fruity loops has a demo you can download to see what it can do.

As far as DFH goes, The drum samples on it are the best I have heard. If your looking for realistic drum sounds for Rock,Pop or Metal than you should check it out.

It's good that you don't because if you did, I'd flame you to death...
