Can HS2204xl slave to midi?

Am I blind? I'm trying to find how to make HS slave to midi sync.

I'm running FL as a DXi plug-in and hoping to be able to get the HS tracks to run when I start the sequence within FL.

Just out of curiousity, is this something I could do with Sonar?

Bill

If you're running FL as a DXi, I think you have to do it the other way around. FL will automaticly slave to Sonar/HS when you do this... I think.

Thanks, Moskus. Yes, FL slaves to HS just fine, but it would be nice if HS would slave also. Sometimes I'll want to have tracks recorded in both and work with the FL interface while still hearing the tracks recorded in HS. I can hit play in HS and then jump to FL but that's kind of kludgey.

I really don't think you have a choice when you use FL as a DXi. Maybe it would work if you just slaved HS to FL via MIDI (using Hubis Loopback utility or something like that)...

Thanks, I've never heard of Hubis before.

However, it doesn't seem like there's anything in HS's documentation that mentions it being able to recognize midi start or SPP and I have found that it definitely doesn't recongize MTC.

It seems like a pretty basic function to be missing. You should be able start the sequencer from a remote midi controller in case your sitting at a keyboard away from your computer. I think it's part of Cakewalk's dastardly plan to wrestle $379 dollars out my wallet for SONAR.

I know that HS 2002 isn't able to slave to another MIDI device, don't know about HS2004. Sonar can slave to MIDI devices though...
