Moscus DreamStation

Moscus,

Could you tell me how to achieve a Gary Neuman/ 1980 synth type sound. I am looking for the sound of an older monophonic synth that might have had glisses or slurs between notes.

Thanks,

Jim

Lightbulb

You realy need serious help there, buddy...

It's moskus... not moscus... and you don't wanna know what would happen if you spell his name incorect... (*)

I don't know much about Gary Neuman... (but the way you mentioned his name sures he's cool guy back then, eh? ) anyway, this tip will apply to SONAR, Plasma, and Home Studio 2002. (This was taken from Scott Garrigus' SONAR Power! book)

Automatically create your own sounds with the DreamStation DXi - without knowing anything about analog synthesis.

Hold down the Shift key on your computer keyboard and then click the CLR button at the top of the DreamStation window.

This edit will randomize all of the DreamStation's parameters, and will create a new sound.

If you like what you hear, save the sound as a preset and repeat this tip until you have all the cool sounds you need

The other way will be to load any existing preset (which you think has closer sound to what you after) as starting point, and do necessary editing. I found the Synth banks are cool...

(*) ...he'll PM me to change the tittle of the thread to "Hey moscus..."

This is exactly what I would do, since I don't know anything about synthesis.
