Homemade shockmounts

Anyone have any ideas for making microphone shockmounts?

There was an article in Tape Op magazine with a homemade shockmout - basically, they took a 3" PVC pipe, cut a 2" length of it, and used elastic hairbands to hold the microphone. They glued a piece of wood to the side to clip on the mic stand.

On the other hand, the mounts at tensimount.com work well for me, and are very cheap ($12.95) for the normal size, and they sell adapters for big microphones. They look a lot better than anything I could make at home, so that's what I ended up using for my microphones that don't have a factory shockmount.

What about shoving your mic in a big marshmellow that should do the trick LOL.
