The easiest way to do it is to take another kit and tweak the hell out of it... Or just search through the 1000s of SF drumkits out there.

fabio.degani, don't get us wrong... but I didn't buy Metallica's last album because Lars' drums sound realy sucks... I'm completely Metallica's fans since their first release, but comparing to those, nowdays Metallica's drums getting more canned and canned... Nuff' with whining... to the business..

If you use sampler, then try Drum Kit From Hell.

http://www.soundsonline.com/sophtml/...html?sku=TT100

It's best suited for rock/metal genre so far I know...

If you use soundfonts, use BlueJay drum kits from Sonic Implant, included in SONAR 2XL CD. You can "split" the whole drum track by instruments. eg. For example, Use "Kit A" for kick, "Kit B" for snare, etc. FYI, generaly I used 8 different soundfonts to "build my kit"...

Hope it helps,

Jaymz

people say that its some sort of artistic move.

I vote the pots and pans and "trash" cans!

(im actually going to do that for my bands next recording.. but completley replace the drum track so its exactly the same as the orginal but with "artistic" drums... i like metalica that much!)

Yes, he is.

But there's a bright side to that:
Programming his drumming style ain't hard at all!

They were going for "Raw" and instead, got "fucking awful."

You want raw? Go check out Kyuss' "Blues for the Red Sun." Now there's an album that's raw, yet sounds beautiful.

As a side note, I understand that Lars' drum tracks are edited to death for timing.

Question

What do you mean by "edited do death for timing" ? Is it done do make his recordings "syncronize" the metronome ? (Sorry, I don't speak english that good)

Well, I think his double bass drum is very good, how couldn't he play "on time" ?

How did you know that ?

I like the sound of the new record, I just think the guitars are too low...(bad producer !)
