Direct-in vocal recording
I just got a Pod for my guitar and its like the fog has lifted...LOL. I do all direct in recording thru a somewhat inexpensive mixer and decent Soundblaster (Live). I'm wondeing if anyone can recomend a modest priced piece of equipment that can do for my vocals what this Pod is doing for my guitar tracks.
I have a Sure SM58 left over from my live giging days and a decent reverb but my overall sound has gotten very clean + crisp as I have upgraded my stuff and its left my vocals sounding very weak. Pod...ryhmes with God....hummmmmmmmm. Anyway, I probably need some sort of pre-amp or something...any "modest" priced equipment out there? I have a Clapton-like voice and I need some re-enforcing. Thanks for all the knowledge available here...people helping people....I like it. Rick |

If you want the sound your guitar gets, just stick the sm58 into the pod.

buy a low level standalone preamp...
art tube, or dmp3 and then $100 ldc mic.... it's not what clapton's producer would use... but either that or a sm58 thru a pod... i think the answer should be as obvious as a bullet in your head and remember... if 200-300 bux is too much ebay is always gonna be your best friend |

Thanks, I read
some more after my post and it sounds like a DMP3 is for me.
