dont forget

Don't forget, the Hagiwara Sys-Com cards that actually come with the mr8...don't buy one and have it not work like I did. Go to www.hscus.com and save yourself time and money. Well...maybe not that much money

When are these cards going to go the way RAM did a year ago or so? They cost about $10 to make I'm sure, one day we'll rejoice when they're that cheap.

Xtreme Gear's CF cards

I ordered a Toshiba 512 card from these guys. I received my order today and although it clearly says "Toshiba Compact Flash 512" on the invoice, the card is a Kingston. Since I have no idea whether or not this thing will work, I sent them a rather nasty little note requesting that they send the correct card via FedEx overnight and pay the return postage for this card.

Have any of you successfully used the Kingston 512 card in the MR-8? I saw a couple of successes with the 256 but didn't find any info on the 512.

Yes. that is the card I got as well, and it has worked perfectly since day one.

KINGSTON? What? What else does the card have on it? I'll try to look it up. I know someone who used to sell Kingston, maybe they can get me a quote.

Thanks for that info, very interesting.

I don't have it in front of me (and I won't see it again until Sunday), but it looks similar. I don't remember mine having a logo saying "High Speed," but it might. Mine's still in the box so half the card is covered. I haven't yet heard back from Xtremegear regarding exchanging this card for the Toshiba.
