Recording Audio tracks using the metronome

Yet another newbe question...

Trying out Cubasis VST 4.0 CE that came with my new SB Audigy 2 Platinum package.

I'm recording electric guitar direct for the first time. I'm noticing though that whatever tracks I'm recording, the bloody metronome tempo gets recorded into my track and image file too!

I tried to find the answer in the documentation but... nothing.

Is it my set up? How can I record using the metronome and prevent this from happening?

Cheers!

How are you routing audio out of the audigy? Are you going directly to your speakers? or routing through some kind of a mixer?

If I remember right, soundblasters have a setting, something to the effect of "Record: what you hear", make sure that it is not set to that but have it just set to record audio input.
