Hi friends, Here’s a difficult question: About twenty years ago I made several recordings with Fostex 4 and 8 track audio tape. I often used a Roland TR626 drum computer synchronized to the recording through an audio synch track.
I recently bought all this old equipment in order to save my old...
A microphone question for the tech heads:
How does it come that large diaphragm cardioid microphones are relatively slim compared to small diaphragm mics?
(Considering the need for an acoustic delay chamber in order to work as a cardioid)
Thanks,
Jan
With so many different equipment being discussed here on the forum it would be a nice idea to have a sort of ”equipment manufacturer page” with links to the various manufacturers.
An other idea would be the good practice to put links behind a product name if you start up a new forum. Or at...
I´m ready for a multi pattern mic. Any suggestions?
I already have following cardoide condensers:
Neumann TLM103
Rode NTK
2x AKG C2000B
2x old Philips small diaphragm
all of them very good sounding mics

Two years ago I bought myself the J-Station, an interesting guitar amp modeling unit with 24/44.1 Spdif out.
I was wondering if we got any further in the mean time?

I like writing songs, and do this by improvising with my guitar with headphones on while singing some kind of “phonetical” melody line. If I found an interesting theme, I...
Some experiences with my new Joe Meek VC1Qcs:
Transformer pre-amp
Opto compressor
Equalizer
Enhancer / De-Esser
What I immediately liked about the box is the fact that all units really do something audible. It’s not like you will be seriously questioning yourself if the compressor is activated...
I have to make myself a cable of about 10ft long in order to connect a 8channel 24bit breakout box to my RME DIGI96PST soundcard.
I’m wondering if I will have to use special data transmission cable like 75ohm Ethernet coax cable or if I could also use a good quality shielded audio cable.
Does...
Hi, I’m mainly using VST for audio recording because my instrument is the guitar. I do however every now and then use some soundfonts and a midi keyboard to record simple strings or piano.
My biggest problem is the SBLive that I’m forced to use when recording soundfonts. It’s not compatible...
