Thanks. Believe me, I've tried Google... a lot. I've already done my research on the looper pedal I'd like and even though I know the RC50 has an XLR input, I'm not a fan of the sound and prefer the options that come with the Headrush.
So I basically want to get into looping and I'm planning to get the Akai Headrush but I don't want to just record guitar loops; I'd like to get other things in as well through a mic. I know a mixer needs to be involved in the process but what comes after? Is there a way to have the guitar signal...
I checked those out but I still have no idea how everything is setup. I saw one with a mic and instrument in but in the vid, it seems like Jon Brion is able to loop his piano, organs, drum kit, and two rhythm guitar tracks before singing and soloing.
Anyone else still have any ideas to the sort...
Thanks, those are great suggestions to consider.
As far as Ableton, the way I want to make loops doesn't require any computers or software on stage. If you watch the video, it seems to be done with pedal(s) but I have no idea what pedal(s) is/are being used and how everything is wired together.
So I have two questions:
1) I have about a $1000 to spend for a budget home studio and I'd really like to be able to make the best recordings I can possibly make with the limited funds. I know that it isn't that much but I'm hoping that the intelligent people of this forum can help me out.
I...
So how would I go about doing that? I'm not sure how the connection would work.
And if I do get another software, it should be possible to record the midi through it and then convert to wav files and send to Audacity for mixing, right?
So I have a keyboard that's midi capable by a USB connection. I'd like to record my keyboard's piano sounds and others through that function and I use Audacity, but the software doesn't handle midi.
Does anyone know what I can use to record and edit midi? I don't want to go about the ways of...
Oh man, Audacity totally already has one. When I checked last night, I must have overlooked it because all I saw was the Leslie Speaker Effect. Thanks!
That's an immensely helpful tip. I'm definitely gonna use that advice. Myself, I've never bothered to mess with the playback volume but if it helps with latency, I'm there.
So I'm trying to get a tremolo effect on a vocal track. I use Audacity and a cheapo computer mic. I was wondering if there was a way to use my guitar's tremolo pedal for such a case? If so, how can it be done connections-wise?
Thanks in advance.
I use Audacity all the time and your problem could come from a few different situations. Most likely, it's just a memory issue but make sure you close all the other running programs when you record.
Another thing is, no matter what instrument I track, including vocals, there's always a slight...
So, I had no idea where to take these questions but this site provides a great wealth of information so I'll ask them here.
I'm finishing up a self-made CD and I'd like to make some cheapo album covers and disc labels. I'll probably spend around one-hundred or so. I know that isn't much for a...
Thank you so much. You definitely helped me out with everything I needed. My conundrums have been solved and now I'm off to do some research on some cheap XLR cables and mic stands.
Thanks again and I wish you the best with everything. :)
Oh man, that interface sounds fantastic. Really within the budget and it's totally something I can build upon (extra mics and what not).
So I read the reviews and the preamp in the mixer could be better and the issue could be resolved by buying a cheap one, like the one you mentioned. I'm...
Hmmm, I really like the mixer idea. I have no worries mixing everything down to one signal because all I'd have to do is play around with the drums a bit to know how loud I want each part of the kit to sound.
So then, what if I get a really cheap interface (one that would just have the line...
Wow, that definitely helped a lot. I usually record by having the mics on amps but I'd like to try doing the bass through the preamp. My only question is how would I alter the tone of the bass once I've recorded it into the laptop? I can alter the sound now with the amp before I record but how...
Thanks a lot!
So I basically want a condenser because it does so much. Acoustic guitars, pianos, and mainly for vocals. I've heard that a dynamic like the SM57 is great for the louder, screaming stuff, but not really what I'll be doing (which will be the Indie-Folk-Rock kinda thing ["Like a...
