    Help me choose a DAW

Yeah, I know how to do it in Reaper. I wasn't sure in S1, but it's not too difficult. If you've ever used different EQ plugins, you'll know that the same changes in different plugins yield different results. I just think the results from the S1 EQ are better.

    Help me choose a DAW

I have some nice Waves comps that I tend to use, but I can never get the EQ to actually do what I want it to do. I make a ton of adjustments and get only minor changes, meanwhile in Studio One every change is much more noticeable. Same with the Waves Q10, but I still think the S1 EQ is better...

    Help me choose a DAW

I studied recording as a minor in college (nearly 10 years ago now...) meaning, as you might imagine, that I learned on Pro Tools. But outside of school, I found it pretty irritating that I needed their expensive hardware to run the software, so I switched over to Reaper. I was pretty happy with...

FS: Bunch of guitars, Fuzz Factory, Orange PPC112

The Tele was actually already routed HH, so all I did was swap the pickguard. It was super cheap, as were the pickups, so it was more of an experiment, really. The Strat I originally bought because I thought it looked cool and sounded good, but later I wanted to try running 3 Hot Rails with coil...

FS: Bunch of guitars, Fuzz Factory, Orange PPC112

Guitars, effects, cabs - PRS, Orange, Z.vex, and more! I'm just going to link to my Craig's List post because it's a long posting, but here's the short version: 2000 PRS McCarty with hard case, $1000 (it's got a repaired neck). Takamine EG224SC with hard case, $300. Squier Bullet Tele with a...

FS: Z.Vex Fuzz Factory, Dean MAB3

Looking to buy the new Fuzz Factory 7, so I need to clear out some gear. The Fuzz Factory looks basically brand new except it has velcro on the bottom. The Dean is actually brand new, but it arrived at the store with a broken neck and was being thrown out. It broke by where it attaches to the...

Using my Fishman Tripleplay live? (no laptop)

I've been interested in MIDI guitar systems for a while, but could never justify the expense until now. I got a hell of a deal on the Tripleplay, and it's a pretty sweet device, but I don't own and have no intention of buying a laptop, so for the moment it is just a fun toy to mess around with...

    Using coil splits live/volume drop

This particular guitar does have separate volumes. I find that way more useful than the normal Vol-Tone-Tone most Strats have. We played a frat party recently where I didn't want to bring my full rig, so I just brought my OR15 and a 112 and used the two volumes exactly for that purpose...

    Using coil splits live/volume drop

I really want CLEAN clean, though, no distortion at all. I have four channels of varying amounts and types of distortion, so what I really want here is something with no distortion at all. And I can't really do that anyway, as in this case, my "clean channel" is actually just an EQ pedal, so...

    Using coil splits live/volume drop

I actually don't play very hard, unless the song calls for it (palm muted chugs are pretty heavy for me, and tend to destroy my picks). Or the other guitarist, who does play very hard, is doing his best to overpower me. The thing is, I use one of my amp's channels for a dirty tweed sound, which...

    Using coil splits live/volume drop

It does, and I guess I could set two presets on it, one for single coils and one for humbuckers, so that I can switch for different songs. I'll just have to be careful about which guitar I bring, since I often bring the Luke, which does balance things. Or I could set it not to... Hm.

    Using coil splits live/volume drop

I finally.put the finishing touches on a custom guitar by adding some custom Antiquities made for me by SD so that I could coil split them. I really like the neck single coil sound for clean stuff, but not so much for heavy drive. The problem is, the single coil is a lot quieter than the...

    MIDI Mate and Amplitube 3

Ha, so, nevermind. Figured it out. The problem is that when you click the save button it defaults to saving a patch rather than a preset (if you have a patch loaded up, at least), and the program information doesn't save to a patch. So you have to hit save as to save it to a preset, which does...

    MIDI Mate and Amplitube 3

I have. The user manual doesn't actually say anything about that part and the one YouTube video I found makes it seem like what I was doing (just changing it in the MIDI menu) should work and should save per preset, but mine doesn't do that. I emailed IK to see if they have any ideas, but they...

    MIDI Mate and Amplitube 3

I got a MIDI Mate for free the other day and I would like to configure it to work with Amplitube so that I have a nice, silent way of practicing, but without giving up the convenience of stomp switches. So my ideal setup is to run the MIDI Mate in Controller mode and have the bottom row of...

Malekko Plus Ultra 213 used with active guitars/after buffers?

Nevermind. The nice people at Malekko tested it out and got back to me. Good to go!

Malekko Plus Ultra 213 used with active guitars/after buffers?

Anyone have one of these pedals that can comment? I know some fuzzes get real ugly when they aren't first in the chain. I really dig how this thing sounds (in YouTube videos...), but if it's not gonna work with my setup, then there's no point ordering one.

    Bad intonation with compensated nut?

Read it. Well, the first three pages, anyway. I think I get the point. I know these guitars come stock with 9s, so if the compensation is set for those, maybe 10s won't cooperate? I've never noticed any particular problems going from one gauge to another before, assuming I check the setup after...

    Bad intonation with compensated nut?

It isn't that kind of weirdness. I fix that sort of problem for customers all day. Usually just need to widen the slot and/or make sure it has a nice, smooth channel. This is an out of tune sound, the warble you can hear as you move to strings closer to one another in pitch. As the notes are all...

    Bad intonation with compensated nut?

Help me out here. I bought a Music Man Luke 3 not too long ago and it's my first guitar with a compensated nut. For whatever reason, tonight is the first time I noticed this problem, but for some reason, I can not get the 1st and 2nd strings to sound right together, but they are perfectly in...
