Is anyone out there having a problem recording in the sam room as the4 D-16 with condenser mics? According to 2 people I've spoken to they can't hear the drive noise even with headphones and mic on.
Its just quite annoying because the clicking is also there when you play back, so you...
Man am I green - so here's the question:
Why burn to CD-R (I'm using a Korg D16) when you can use the SPDIF output from the Korg into an equivalent input in a standalone CD Recorder like the TASCAM CDR400?

I'm about to buy a digital multitrack but my ultimate aim is to master and burn my own CDs at home (to send out as demos) without (a) going to a mastering studio or (b) buying a mastering processor (like TC Finalizer).
I'll probably be recording in 24 bit on a Korg D-16 or AKAI...
Sill question, probably, but if a digital recorder has an SCSI capability, does that mean that I'll be able to burn my own CDs from that recorder straight (leaving out mastering questions etc)?

If I'm using a 16-bit multitrack recorders which has 20 or 24 bit DA/AD converters, is that a good thing? i.e. Why should that matter since the recording is going to be 16 bit in any case?

I more or less understand the dithering thing about transferring a 24 bit recording to a 16 bit CD recorder or DAT - my question is:
Since your recording e.g. on the new Fostex VF16, is going to be 16 bit, is it such a big deal that the effects are 24 bit? Presumably the problem will still...
