    India

Best I've heard out of your stable in a while. Good work, Mark Skinner.

    Warm Embrace (Demo)

Liked the stuff that a de-esser would get rid of. Really interesting. Good work. I'd've still cut back on it a bit, especially on her vocal. This is a mixing forum too, right? Good song. Really nice.

    The Wolves Of Fading

    Mix feedback: sounds good.

    Manslick - Come Home

Maybe trust that 'not getting more' thing. When that happens to me, sometimes I just repeat what I got until I get tired of repeating it. A lot of music does that - find a good thing and roll with it for a while. That whole intro-verses-chorus-bridge thing is so prescriptive.

Hanging Tree (Remake by my 12 yo daughter)

Way better reverb setting than the first one.

    Bad Moon Rising -Final Mix-

Nice one, Mark - I like this as much as the original. Sounds good through the KRKs. Through the iPad (I know, I know), the bass sort of disappears and the hihats are sizzly overpresent. So I got curious and played it through my tracking cans (bass heavy) and my mixing cans (best sound overall)...

New Original Song: I Won't Let You Go by Reve + Ujn

Sometimes I think it's just a matter of making the vocal louder during its quietest moments.

'Christmas time' the worst song i could invent for the holiday

I liked it. What I'd really like is to hear it get played in the mall or supermarket in the middle of all the usual Christmas tune drivel.

    Nobody Home

Yeah, this. I wanted to hear the vocal more clearly all the way through actually. Good cover. (I clicked on the link without realizing this is a Floyd song. I heard the first few lyrics and thought 'Whoa! Awesome - who is this guy?' lol)

    Bright Shiny Guy

Good romp. BVs are a bit dark maybe. The way they are now, they contrast with the brighter main vocal, but if they were just as bright as the main vocal, would the lack of contrast be a bad thing? Thinking out loud.

Flat Rock -Final Mix - (again)

The drums are busy for a tune like this, so what would they sound like if the whole kit was just a bit quieter - clicking underneath sort of instead of really popping the way they are now?

Been a long time...a couple new mixes (indie rock type music)

Exactly. That's why I didn't comment on the mix - I wasn't sure what you were trying to achieve - kinda lofi or something more standard. So... anyway... what were you trying to achieve with the mix?

Been a long time...a couple new mixes (indie rock type music)

Yeah, I'm not going to comment on the mix either, but I like the songs too. It's as if you were raised on Velvet Underground and then decided to form at band at some point.

    Old Tennessee -Final Mix-

Anytime you wanna have a VI contest, I'm more than happy to play 'I'm Dumber Than You'. Place your bets.

    Old Tennessee -Final Mix-

Yeah, this feels better. Damn. It takes a village sometimes, yeah?

    Old Tennessee -Final Mix-

Nice listen, Mark. I'd like the vocal(s) up a taste, but that's just me. The singing's the obvious focus of the song, and I like it to be prominent. It's a thought/preference not a crit/suggestion.

My Dutch reggae project (reaching out to old friends)

Better than good. Be proud. They're all great, but Track 6 is my fav. Just saying. (Or rather, not saying, because I can't pronounce it.) On another site I frequent, I listen to tracks by a Welsh country band - they sound like Nashville, but they sing in Welsh. Welsh cowboys, Dutch reggae -...

I think it's short for 'pokey out sostenuto'.
