    Audio Technica

Gotta say after trying it, I'm finding it's really good, especially on the highs and mids.

    Audio Technica

I just bought an Audio Technica MB3000L and haven't had much chance to play with it. I'm going to be using it purely as a vocal mic. Just wondering if anyone else had tried these as I was going to splash out on a SM58 but got this for half the price.

Help regarding Diamond pro 8.2 actives

There is a balanced(XLR or 1/4") or unbalanced(RCA Phono) connection into the monitors. You do get a phono jack to XLR cable (I checked) http://www.leisure-lynx.com/products/full_info.asp?id=12 I'm thinking this will probably be my best option as wharfedale advise you to use the XLR input for...

    Wharfedale Diamond Pro Monitors

Bass Filter: This is specifically designed to control the typical low frequency build up caused by the speakers interaction with the room/space.

Help regarding Diamond pro 8.2 actives

I picked up my Wharfedale Diamond Pro Active 8.2's today and have hooked them up directly to my Zoom MRS802. They are picking up the zooms hard drive, is this because at the moment I have them hooked up by : 2 x phono jacks from the Zoom to 2 x 1/4" Jacks into the Balanced inputs on the 8.2's ...

    Wharfedale Diamond Pro Monitors

I saw them in the Dundee branch of SC, but got them from a Hi-fi dealer in Montrose for the same price (£250)

    Crate Amps

I've got a Vox Venue Lead 100, but to be honest I'm not that happy with it, I've had it for over 10 years (and probably gigged it to death) and maybe I've just outgrown the sound and am looking for something different. I'm just looking for something inexpensive that can produce a nice...

    weird cable issue

I've come across this problem before, and for me it was due to a faulty 1/8" adaptor, but since you've swapped them around and tested them it may be down to a dodgy input on your soundcard. I usually use the Sherlock Holmes method when something like this pops up. "Eliminate all other factors...

    Guitar distortion plugins!?

I'm a total newbie to Cubase, but I found a free download of plug-ins (From a University site I believe) called Guitar Suite. One of which is an extremely sweet sounding Marshall JCM 900.

    Wharfedale Diamond Pro Monitors

I'll have my Diamond Pro 8.2 actives by thursday :D And after using an old technics stereo to do my mixing, I think I may notice a slight difference. (That cut n paste info looks like it came from the Sound Control site, thats where I looked them over, but bought them locally)

    Getting Rid of Hiss etc...

I don't know which model of Tascam you have, but if it's a Porta II 4 Track, I always found that tracks 2 & 4 were filled with hiss before I even started recording to them. I think its produced by the way it records to tracks 1 & 3. Some of the later models were released with Dolby, how much...

Extracting guitar and keyboard from the record

Theres a guy from Turkey (I think) who plays just like Steve Vai, and he just uses Cubase VST with a couple of plug ins (1 being a JCM 900 emu) and he manages to replicate the sound of Sir Vai himself. You might talk him into doing a sample for you, he's on a forum called KVR or something...

I want a Fender Jazz Bass... Mexican vs. American vs. Japanese???

I know theres a difference with the timber used between the Mexican & Japanese guitars. The Mex uses American Poplar, and the Jap uses Basswood, but I believe the hardware is exactly the same. I think it's a matter of trying one of each and finding out your preference, Fenders always seem to...

    Crate Amps

Lol, I'm not a death metal fan if thats what you mean. The nick comes from characters in my favourite books, Necroscope & Nothing, I just combined them. But you are right, I am looking to get a sound closer to the warm tones of the Mesa and JCM900 sound without the cost Definately going to...

    Crate Amps

They're not my only options, but they are available locally.......and cheap, which is gonna be a real issue for me soon (just got made redundant) so I'm making the best of what money I have left. I've had a look for Carvin, but they don't appear to be so readily available in the UK...well not...

    Crate Amps

I'm looking at getting a small practice amp purely for recording reasons. I've been having a look at the Crate and the Line 16 amps. Mainly looking at the Crate GX15R or the LINE 6 Spider II 15. Has anyone tried these ? and if so what was the verdict ?

    Behringer Vamp

I've been having a look at the Behringer VAmp Pro, just wonder if anyone could give me a review on this. Micing an amp isn't a reality for me due to the proximity of many neighbours, so I was thinking about feeding my Quadraverb GT into a cab/amp simulator to get a decent recording sound. If...

why 5 springs instead of 3 in a Strat?

There is no difference to the sound, the springs are there purely to provide tension for a bridge that has a tremelo arm. Some guitars have 5 springs, some have 3. It's purely a choice of design by the manufacturer.

    Monitoring Final Mixdown

Paid a deposit on a pair of Wharfedale Diamond Pro 8.2a's today, managed to talk the store manager into letting me have them for £250/$388 (Wharefdale themselves wanted £145/$225 for each speaker, you guys in the states have no idea how good you have it). I'll have them by next thursday. I've...

    What Next?

Done & done, It was the only sig I had (use it on other forums/boards) and I've just been too idle/busy to make a new one. I've got a Marshall 50w and a Vox Venue Lead 100w but I live in a top floor flat, so I don't get much chance to use the amp. I do have a Marshall Series 9000 pre-amp that...
