    Aquariums in control rooms?

As nice as it would look, you are going to have some stressed fish if you keep a tank anywhere in a studio. In the control room, they are going to have to deal with blasting speakers and won't get lights out unless you quit working on music when your light timers go off. A lounge area would be...

    A better sequencer

Ok guys....I appreciate all the help. I think I found (about) what I was was looking for. Surprise.....its the newest version of what I use already....haha. Synapse Orion. So much for the effort :D If anyone is interested, its got a pattern-based step sequencer (piano roll) and a...

    Rack vs plugin?

I use Waves IR-1 and have been pretty happy with it so far. I would post some mp3s, but Im out at my familys house.....possibly tomorrow. FWIW, the only things I am doing out of the box are comp and eq. Ive been able to find a decent plugin for everything else. Merry X-mas.

For those with vintage instruments...Do you play them?

Surely....I have a Selmer MkVI that I play every chance I get. Not a guitar.....but if I can ever get that old Gretsch from the guy down the street who doesnt play anymore, ill be playin that one too. I dont have it in me to simply 'collect' good intruments. :)

    What was your first guitar?

Giannini....actually, I think it was a Giannini knock off since it was had on the African coast for about 5 bucks. My dad picked it up when he was out shrimping. Insane action...and not in a good way...haha. Still have it though. I guess I played it for about a year before I 'stepped up'...

    Cleaning Out your Ears

Actually, they can. You have to make sure the brand you are buying is decent. Burn one in a jar and make sure its not producing any matierial that could seep down into your ear. In my experience, they are quite safe.

    compressor/preamp

You may be better off putting your money together and buying something a little better on one end or another. Ive never tried the 226...used to have a 166, which was ok...but I would compare it to the onboard on that Tascam first. (I havent used those either) I actually have a TubePre that...

    Cleaning Out your Ears

Ear candles are the way to go....if you havent tried them, I doubt any doc could pull more junk out of your head than the candles do. Its pretty profound. You can get em at 'natural' stores and whatnot

    Rackmount computer chassis

My .02 on the rack....I think they are easier to iso than a tower since you are in fact securing them to some posts. If you are buiding an iso box, then you already have a frame to work from as well as the positioning once you get your rack hammered together. I built a pretty quiet rack...

Is the MXL V67G the best LDC for less than $100 for vocals?

I think so....but thats for me. Im around tenor range btw. Some get the M69, some get the V67, some get the 57, some get the B1....and thats just in that price range. Hell, which is better...a bacon cheesebuger or a set of tacos? I also know people who would rather eat chicken fingers than...

program to send midi commands from keyboard?

I used to use mousekeyboard a long while back.....dont know how it is now but heres the site if youd like to take a look. It used to be 'postcardware'....10 second delay on the start, I think. http://www.bome.com/midi/keyboard/

    DJ Cartridge Stanton Vs. Ortofon

Ive used quite a few over the years....but the m44 is a good one for sure. I like the tone of the g more....but the feel of the 7 more.....depending on what your doing. I like em better than the TMs...but you wont go wrong with them. Stanton makes a quality cartrige....and ive never been...
