    i need your help!

honestly dude, from what I can hear on these pc speakers, the drums aren't that bad. The toms will sound good with compression, same with the kick. The snare is lacking some body but I listened to that other trqack of yours and I liked the way the snare sat in that song. ALl in all I think...

    Best place for Drumheads

$40 for three heads is pretty damn good, especially since you aren't going to have to pay tax on them since you're buying them mailorder.

    Getting that bass drum click

well, it's a little more complicated than that. A round felt beater on a one ply head isn't going to give you ANY click at all. Try switching your kick beater to a hard plastic or wood beater and on the head try putting one of those slugg percussion head saver pads. The combination of the...

Improving sound of a crap set

The best way to get a good sound from drums made out of cheap MDF shells is to use Evans Hydraulics on your batter side and a thin evans genera on the reso. That head combo will make any piece of crap sound good.

Hey, I'm just like everyone else, I put my pants on one leg at a time...except once I have them on I make gold records.

Rack tom sounding like a basketball.

I'll be damned if that song doesn't have some Avenged Sevenfold influence in it. That is one fantastic song! I love the melody in the guitar. I know this is an unmixed version and all but I would suggest that you use some compression on the overheads to give your cymbals some more pop. Great...

    just got drums . . .

Sorry about that crap comment. I shouldn't have said it like that. The Stage Customs are a student level kit and I used them for many years. FOR THE PRICE they sound great, they really do. I was happy for many years with my Stage Customs. However, comparing those same Stage Customs with My...

thinking about taking the instruction plunge again....

if itsn't your life, then don't burn 50 bucks an hour to learn. There are a lot of great teachers out there that charge a helluva lot less than that.

    just got drums . . .

If you have a cheaper kit then I would definitely suggest using the Evans Hydraulics. They're very easy to tune and they used to make my piece of crap Stage Custom sound pretty damn good. Moon Gels are little rectangular squares of some type of silicone rubber. They're used to tame the nasty...

    AHEAD sticks

Fritz, I wanted to apologize man. I didn't want to come across like a know-it-all. I'm really sorry. I know how busy you must be touring and doing studio sessions, it was cool that you could even find a second and post a reply for the benefit of a mere enthusiast such as myself. Thank you so...

Hey drummers, easy question for ya...

I have a seven piece that takes up about 7' from the tip of my furthest cymbal leg to the rear brace of my throne and 8' from the outer edge of my hats to the outer edge of my right-side ride. I typically use an 8'X8' drum riser for shows. Also, I have about 2' between my back and the wall for...

    AHEAD sticks

the using Aheads isn't like putting metal on metal, they have a thick nylon sleeve that slip over the taper of the stick.. that nylon cover is actually softer than most wooden sticks. fritzmusic- if you're breaking Ahead 5b's in 2 hours, it isn't the sticks... you need to work on your form and...

Making a conract for the use of my drums...

Seriously, if you need minors to sign a contract affirming that they will replace whatever they break, then you shouldn't be bringing your kit. A good drummer is a good drummer no matter what kit he is playing on. It doesn't matter if it's a DW or a CB700. You put Neil Peart on either kit...
