Please check out the latest update of the e-zine Indie Shout (www.indieshout.com). This time around, there is an article discussing the "pay for play" situation, two CD reviews, and a contest to win some free stuff. As always, the older articles, reviews, and interviews are archived for your...

FINALLY got the lastest update posted. I've moved three times this year, think it's time to stay at the same address for a while. Anyway, it's at: www.IndieShout.com as always. Oh, and I'm looking for some article submissions (or at least ideas) if anyone has 'em! Shoot me an email from...

    Bundle discount?

When selling CDs and merchandise at gigs, has anyone tried the "bundle discount" theory? Like maybe charging $10 for a CD, $10 for a shirt, or $15 for both? Maybe $10 for your new CD and only $5 more if they buy your last one at the same time? I'm thinking of trying this when fall comes...

    Hey all...

Hopefully this blatant promotion doesn't come across as spam, I have nothing to sell and nothing to gain except good networking: With Indie Shout's Discussion Forums, I've hopefully laid out a groundwork for discussion that expands on the "Marketing and Publicity" theme. I invite you to join...

    More on "maybe."

How 'bout all of us agree not to be lured into the non-productive bullshit arguments anymore and just focus on the positive aspects of marketing and publicity. Agreed? Cool... Anyone got any good gigs coming up?

    Let's turn a new leaf.

How 'bout some positive suggestions for promoting our music and indie music hobbies/careers? Anyone ever play the Lava Lounge in L.A.? Oh...and by the way, anyone (bands) looking for a solo-acoustic opening act for a tour this fall or late summer? :D

    Maybe...

Maybe if we posted a bunch of new messages and bumped the non-BS ones, the bullshit posts will all fall off the first page.

Indie Shout question of the week.

Hey all...over the past couple weeks IndieShout.com has had an average of just over 145 hits per day. That's great, but there have been very few who have taken the few seconds to answer the question of the week. I don't want to scrap that part of the 'zine, but I'll have to if I don't get any...

    Booking terminology help

I've been presented with this in an email regarding a booking: OK. What does "walk it up" mean? Also, what is being referred to as "all the extras are for you to blow up your band?" Does this mean I can buy the tix and sell them or give them away? I'm going to email back for...

    Help! Need this week's feature!

Due to the slowness of response by some of the artists IndieShout has contacted, I'm stuck for getting a feature done! Usually I like to have everything together by mid-week so that all I have to do Sunday is upload everything. What that means is... If you or someone you know needs some press...

    Screen Resolution?

Personally, I use 1280x1024 I try to make sure my websites look best in 800x600 but still presentable in higher resolutions. What screen resolution do you use?

    What would you ask?

Suggestion time. I'm getting ready to do some interviews of indie musicians for www.indieshout.com. These are going to be based more on what a fellow musician would want to know. So...fellow musicians, what would you want to know? What information could a indie act that seems to be making...
