hey all, so ive used several different large diaphragm condensers into several interfaces and with all of them I feel like it colours/warms my voice too much, I want it to sound more like I actually sound if that makes sense? ive tried eq'ing but I don't find that really changes the actual sound...
so ive always had to boost my vocals from about 12k onwards (seen a lot of places refer to this freq as "air")
what gives more air before recording? certain polar pattern? certain mic type? is there anything that gives more of this freq?
a lot of mics with "boost to high frequency's" only...
just saw a yt vid from recordingrevolution.com and he said he thinks dynamics are better for getting a vocal recording to sit in a dense mix, now most if not all instrumentals have been mixed/mastered to within an inch of their lives and are very dense, so does that mean dynamics would give a...
Title says it all really, just wondering if anyone knows of any mics with a frequency response curve that has a bit of a boost around 500hz (400-600) most condensers have boost at high end and seen bass mics with boost at low end (150hz and lower) is there any with 500hz boost? doesn't matter...
Hey everyone, I know you probably read questions like this all the time and are fed up of seeing them but just wanted some general advise.
I'm a male singer who sings in his upper register 99% of the time, bass of my voice (not much bass) sits around 200hz which I believe is high for males, I...
Hi, if I have headphones plugged into the monitoring port on a usb mic (blue yeti, snowball etc) do I still get zero latency if I'm recording with effects on ? or does effects add latency to the monitoring ? thanks
Hi, I'm looking to get a mic to record some singing at home but I'm super lazy and don't want to learn how to edit my recordings in post, I saw a video on youtube of the rode nta1 and the guy showed its "taste sensitivity" feature which was 1 roboty voice setting and 1 reverb setting.
is there...
