Total N00B Question About Lap Tops

+1 on making sure the laptop is quiet. A number of years ago a bought a sony VAIO pro and it had pretty good power but the fan was really loud and would bleed into some tracks. :(

GLS Audio ES-57 vs. Shure SM57 (on Guitar) Mic A/B Test - Video and WAV pics

I found this TY comparison, of course it is to be taken with a grain of salt but the distorted guitar sounds pretty similar between the SM57 & ES57. for the pink noise test i think the ES57 sounds truer, but we don't record pink noise. [EDIT: i was listening on crappy speakers so i'll have to...

sqr room .. no bass at listening postition .. heeelllllllllllp :(

+1 for the square room dimensions being the culprit. Everything on every studio build site I have ever been to has said to avoid square room dimensions like the plague because of the aforementioned standing wave issues the wreck havoc on anything on the side of listening quality.

Connecting Eleven Rack to Profire 2626

you only need one cable. SPDIF is a digital transmission and transmits left and right (2 channels) on one cable. Usually there is an SPDIF IN and OUT, this should not be confused with the RCA analog connectors that only transmit one channel of audio on each cable.

    Adventures in Woodworking: The Workbench

    Adventures in Woodworking: The Workbench

I fixed the images so they should be better now. (just started using google image) plan on adding some hardwood in the vice so i won't mare my work while using the vise. More on that later. I also have a small assortment of clamps, but i am learning that i need more. I'll post some more pics...

    Adventures in Woodworking: The Workbench

So after absorbing as much as i could about guitar building and some general woodworking (including some great feedback from folks here), i finally got down to brass tax and began the actual journey. After some time i decided on the Ryobi 2HP Plunge router. and so begun the sickness of buying...

Connecting Spd-sx drum pad to Profire 2626

    does eleven rack have drum sounds? if it does you could do SPD-SX Midi Out > Eleven Rack Midi In >Eleven Rack Out 1 + 2 > Profire2626 Input 1 + 2. Otherwise for the sounds on SPD-SX you could do SPD-SX Out L + R > Profire2626 Input 1 + 2.

Connecting Spd-sx drum pad to Profire 2626

Looks like the profire2626 doesn't have midi input so i would run USB from the drum pat to your PC. Make sure you have the latest drivers for the drum pad.
