    making CDs

This is weird. I have some old stereo equipment. The CD player is probably one of the first ones that came out and it plays my CD-Rs. Maybe you should try to find a cheap or free burner program to try just to see if it is a software or harware problem? Just grasping at straws here.

EFFECTS to use on vox trax

I like a little more reverb myself also, but in this genre it is not popular. For what it's worth, this is really not my kind of music. I like more contemporary stuff, but it is the only song that the tenor, baritone, and lead are in my range.

    Mr-8

I don't think so? But I think you could probably do this if you transferred the tracks to your computer and used some software such as n-track.

    making CDs

Why does nero make CDs that no CD player will play? I'm not trying to insult your intelligence are anything, but are you sure that you are burning with the right settings? Maybe you have it set on data instead of audio? And maybe you are not finalizing the CD? If I am wrong (probably am) maybe...

I forgot to say that, on the stacks, I delayed them approx. 10ms.

EFFECTS to use on vox trax

Great links. I use anwida reverb light (free!). It is one of the best reverbs I've heard. It is a Direct X plug and can be downloaded from www.anwida.com I used it on this song. It may not be the kind of music you guys listen to, but you will hear the results of the reverb. I used the anwida...

    Be a Better Singer

Do a search for Chris and Carol Beatty. They have a great site with vocal tips and vocal instruction CDs you can purchase there. Just do a search for vocal instruction on the net and you will come up with loads of info. Like some others said, I also learned most of what little I know from my...

    Re-takes-am I the only one.

We are also part time and do approx. 50-60 bookings between March and Oct. I do some contemporary stuff on my own. If you haven't listened to it already you can listen to a song I did on the MR-8. I did the tenor, lead, and baritone on this one. The song is written by Greg Day and was made...

    Re-takes-am I the only one.

I will definitely be getting back with you on how to do this if I can't do it by what I've read here. I knew this was possible in N-track, but thought it might be harder.

    Re-takes-am I the only one.

You sound just like me except that I sing lead in a SG trio. I have been playing around with the MR-8 for a while now. At one time I thought about doing our trio's next project totally at home, but I think it would take too much time. It might take us a couple of years to finish it. We'll...

    MR8 for live playback

I love your music Garry. I'm with Mrx about Change Your Mind Back. All it needs is me doing some harmonies with your vocalist. Just kidding.

    M-r8

Are you saying that it is inaudible because the volume is too low? If so check the volume settings of your computer. Also to see if it has something to do with mixdown to wav on the MR-8 try transferring one track at a time and see what the volume is. There are more knowledgeble folks on here...

    Re-takes-am I the only one.

Thanks. Do you sing with a group? I have did the punch in/out thing often in pro studios. In my little home studio I'm not paying for studio time so I just do it till I like it.

    Awash in reverb!

I don't know how it is on the VF-80, but the different room sizes on reverb are to give a wider and deeper effect. Say for instance you had a medium hall and a large hall reverb. You would think that you could turn the medium hall up and equal the large hall. But there is not only a wideness to...

    new mr-8 software?

XP has been good for me. I haven't had the pc related problems that other people have that are using other OSs. Do a search on google for XP. There are several good sites with tweaks that will not only help you learn XP but set it up where it works better for music.

    new mr-8 software?

Man, if you got XP now go get that USB cable it will be a lot easier. Go over to www.fasoft.com and click on forum and ask those guys questions about n-track. They can give you answers very quick. They could probably help you sync up those tracks if that is still a problem. Oh, and by the way...

    Re-takes-am I the only one.

Let me clarify something here. I know how to do the punch and have used it often and it's not that I don't like the results. You can't really tell where the punch was actually done. Volume is no problem. When I sing I try to live the lyrics and therefore the message that the lyrics are trying to...
