    V-drums or not?

Oh yeah... I played with a friend recently that purchased a set of V-drums. I was blown away. Nothing short of baaaaaaaad...

Check out this poll!!! Epiphone or squire?

And in this corner... Treeline had it right. Either way, you can end up with a prize or some junk. I had an Epi LP Custom for a while. It felt and played wonderful, but it got sold quick when the ex and I split (sentimental reasons). I have an 82 Squier Tele. It plays well, and stays in tune...

    Best amp - period!

Yeah... I played through the new Pro Reverb last spring. If that new two channel Twin is anything like that, it's GOT to rock.

    Straight recording gear for guitar

in response... LocusLarson writes... Whats up with this Tech 21 thing...everyone who is a diehard Tube player seems favor it as one of the best solidstates for Tube-like sound. Is it a digital chip or what? Do they have small ones like those portable Marshalls. Like Lopp said...

    Straight recording gear for guitar

Tech 21 stuff I use a Tech 21 Trademark 60 amp. My friend uses a Sansamp. Both are great units, no question about it.

    Alesis DM-5 and Roland PD-7 problem-HELP!!!!

Your answer... While some people at music stores are okay, let's not forget that some get hired out of sheer luck and (occasionally) sexual favors for the store manager. Sorry if that seems graphic, but it has to be true. I'm sure we all could share some of these stories where random idiots...

    Overdrive pedals for sale

In my quest for a satisfying tone, I have accumulated some overdrive pedals that are now getting in my way. Except for the Fender Blender, these are all pedals that I used for a while, but I really have no need for them anymore. ***Boss BD-2 Blues Driver...clean in box with velcro on bottom...

    Straight recording gear for guitar

Just curious as to what some of you folks use to record direct guitar stuff at home or work. I've been using a Boss ME-33 for what stuff I do. Thanks, jimbo

    Another DR5 question

Can I load songs via the MIDI input from other devices/sources? This would be really helpful for some possible jobs coming up. Any helpful information would be greatly appreciated, because this is all so very new to me. Thanks, jimbo

    DR5 question

Just recently got a DR5. Tried programming (of all things) "Silent Night" yesterday while waiting for my car repairs to be completed. The bass and drums are okay when shifting from one pattern to another, but the piano sometimes disappears, or isn't present at the beginning of a pattern, even...

    New to digital recording-need advice

Okay people...I'm new to recording on my computer. I wonder if y'all have some input or advice on getting a soundcard with maybe two 1/4 inch jacks. I'm like anyone else-I want the best bang for the buck. But since I don't know these items or manufacturers well enough, I have no idea of a good...

    Which distortion/od pedal?

Which distortion/OD pedal? So many pedals, so little time...(sigh) With the Marshall set up at your least gain-driven sound, you can ramp up to your preferred Hi-Gain drive and beyond with a variety of pedals. I used to use a Marshall DriveMaster that did that perfectly. Let's not forget...

    Tascam US224 or US428

Anyone using either of these units? I'm really interested in looking into these to do digital recording. I've always had good luck with their products. Thanks, y'all.

    Solid Pedal For Leads

tech21nyc stuff I use a tech21nyc Trademark 60 live. I checked for close to a year before I bought it. I wanted a dependable solid state amp for live use, and this really does it. Both channels sound great with a Tele, Strat, or LP. My TS9 sounds great with both channels. The other guitar...

    Guitar Distortion

Man, am I glad I checked today. I thought I'd look like the only idiot here. I even sat down with my very inexpensive 4 track and ME-33. Recorded direct, no monitors, just headphones. My acoustic/electric is an old Yamaha FG-110 with some unknown pickup wired in the soundhole on the fretboard...

    Guitar Distortion

It can be done Yes, I'm a newbie, but I feel certain this can be done. Joe Satriani did this on Engines Of Creation. My friend does A LOT of digital recording, all samples, no live work. He is highly creative, and does a lot of manipulation with a sample once he gets it. He can alter tempo and...

    Doc Watson

About Doc Watson I live here in wonderful Winston-Salem, NC, just a stone's throw from Wilkesboro and Boone where that culture thrives. I've seen Doc Watson only once, when I was maybe 14 years old. It was a captivating enough performance then to impress a dumb teenager. We have MANY brilliant...

    Looking for info

I have a Tascam Porta 02. Been recording demo stuff on it, and it's coming out alright. But I'd like to find a book on recording with a 4 track, if it exists. Maybe something that can help me maximize the use of this unit. Last night I went to two different books stores. I didn't really find...

    Best Roland Guitar Processor

Anybody got any comments on the Boss ME-33? Just bought one and getting ready to record with it. I work two-nighters on the weekend in a variety band. It has come in VERY handy live. Figured I'd use it to start recording some of my own music. Just joined. Love this site....jimbo
