    Stage Fright!!!!!!!!!

Amazingly enough... my stage fright has progressed into something wierd... I play pickstyle bass in a punkish band... and when we play gigs I dig in so hard with both hands (in fear of making a mistake... that no one will notice anyway ;)) that they both get cramped up before we are a third...

    Coffin Case

I've got one for my bass... my brother bought it for me for Christmas. It's very sturdy and vwey plush inside. Determine your need for a storage compartment (I bring a small container that has my wireless transmitter and receiver, picks, etc...) so it works for me.

    Brainstorm!!!!

kind of like a fretless bass... The problem lies in the fact that you need much more "fret tension" (I'm not sure of the correct term) from the slide due to the string tension than you do on guitar. But hey, give it a shot... Maybe 10 years from now when a teacher asks a student who he wants...

    Inverted Chords

Yes and no (but mostly yes). By knowing all the rules, you have a guide to follow. If you are improvising in Cmin, you know that an Eb is going to fit. Now, an E may sound pretty cool, but if you are playing a C minor scale and throw it in the one odd note will probably "spice it up". If...

    Bassline to compliment chords

Two things (just for your knowledge) It's an Eb and Ab. (You want to see each note represented, be it flat, sharp, natural, etc...) What you really want to do is emphasize the IV (F) and V (G) on their respective beats. Also, technically it's a major 1 4 5 progression, so a C major scale...

I did not have good results with the direct outs on that particular amp. What is you entire post-amp signal chain? That will help us diagnose.

    Inverted Chords

Well, you could say it's a Gmsus4, but a C (2nd inversion?) makes more sense. But, it really comes down to what the bass is. It really all depends... ;)

    guitar harmonies

Here's a tip for all you guys that don't want to learn "theory". Record a note, say a C, then play intervals against it. (Have an extended note just playing and playing...) Get to know those intervals at least by sound. That's how you really start to hear things in your head. Imagine if you...

    It's not hard... 1/((1/X)+(1/Y)) 1/4=.25 1/8=.125 .25+.125=.325 1/.325=2.667 (I used a calculator, btw... ;) But the formula is very simple)

    I need a nice CAB for a 1960's Fender BASSMAN 50

What did those come stock with, something like a 2x12" HUGE cabinet? I'd check ebay for a cheap cab with nice speakers. 10's might work too depending on your style...

Downward slide thingy in many punk songs...how?

There are two things that I'll do... A. Flatten all my fingers over the bottom 3 strings, "fret" (I guess place is a better term ;)) around the 12 fret, give it a good pick then slide down. You get more noise in standard and drop D is mor musical (since it's a 5 chord, not a 5/7). B. A good...
