When overdubbing drums in Garageband, and using headphones to monitor, I can barely hear the previous tracks I recorded. I cranked the vol. all the way, but can barely hear the tracks. What am I doing wrong?

I figured it out, it was like a "duh" moment.
I simply patched a cable from the headphone output on the piano to the fast track, and viola! worked!

I have a Yamaha Porta Grand D6X-500, that has midi inputs/outputs, and was wondering if there was a way to run it through my M Audio Fast Track, for Garageband.
The Fast track doesn't have midi or usb inputs, is there a cable that has midi jacks on one end and an XLR or phone jack on the other...

I have the sync button pushed in and lit up on the deck. I tried a new reel of tape also, but nothing.
Meters bounce when tape is rolling, but when after rewind and hitting play, nothing, no sound or meter bounceing! Yikes! I fear the worst, my Record head is dead!
