    Worst sounding Cd's ever

....and then some things just crash and burn. Like Boston. Third Stage is pretty craptastical, but Walk On is just sad and infuriating. Not that anyone cared about Boston after 1978.

    Starbucks and PBJ before singing

Coffee seems to help me. But I can see how PB&J could be one's undoing. Problem is, I'm always hungry, and I'm also always singing. So the two tend to collide within my daily schedule.

"Early Hours" - Philbagg goes Trance

Good shit. Inspires me to try my hand at trance. I don't know much about the genre, so I'm at a loss for critiques/suggestions. I don't much care for that hand clap sound. The kick sounds good but could have a little more oomph to it IMO. But I like very oomphy kicks, so go figure. But...

    Favorite CDs?

Oh man, I don't generally go for metal, much less death metal, but I love that album. Angela Gossow may have something to do with it. I totally attracted to and scared to death of her all at once.

    Favorite CDs?

Is this best-sounding or best-mastered? 'Cause I like some albums that kinda sound like crap. If this is purely for best sound (although I also love the music on these albums), then these come quickly to mind.... Dummy, Portishead Music Has The Right To Children, Boards Of Canada Midnight...

    Worst sounding Cd's ever

:D :laughings: I'll have to see that! I've seen Fargo, Big Lebowski, O Brother, No Country For Old Men, Burn After Reading, and A Serious Man. Considering three of those rank in my top 20 favorite movies, I need to get more familiar with the Coens.

A short dance track for your consideration

Holy crap, there's a lot of good advice here, kc. I appreciate it. Yeah, I always avoid the bass because I suck ass at programming bass parts. I also suck ass at getting a good bass sound. But avoiding bass in dance music is like avoiding offense in a duel. Perhaps if I start with just the...

    Worst sounding Cd's ever

Yeah, the sound quality is blehccgh. I suppose Carry On isn't so bad....I was just so shocked at its difference from the studio version. The lack of the harmonized vocal intro saddened me deeply. But I admire their ingenuity nonetheless.

    On demand writing

Well, considering the mammoth task you undertook, I'd say the result isn't half-bad. But I find that if lyrics don't have an specific emotional source, they tend to come off as dry, pretentious, and filled with cliches: "you paint a picture in my mind", "I swore I'd never let you go", "tender...

A short dance track for your consideration

Thanks for the reply! I agree with all of your suggestions. You're right, there is no bass....I need to add some bass for sure, but I always get tripped up when trying to get a good bass sound in electronic music. And yes, it is insanely repetitive. This is only an idea that I want to build...

Pro Tools 8.0.4 update brings OFFICIAL compatibility with Windows 7

Hey Pro Tools users, my Pro Tools M-Powered 8 came in the mail today, and after I installed, I found that as of July 7, version 8.0.4 for HD, LE, and M-Powered systems has been released. This version (in theory) brings full, official (not beta) compatibility with 32- and 64-bit versions of...

    Worst sounding Cd's ever

Bad live albums that jump immediately to mind: How The West Was Won, Led Zeppelin. God, the way the Jimmy Page starts playing "Heartbreaker" WAY too fast and then everyone slows down super awkwardly after the opening riff. And Plant's voice cracking like a fucking 15 year-old on "Immigrant...

Go on - do me some "Damage"

Bravo! Very good. Incredibly strong vocals and solo guitar. Good lyrics too. Crud, I don't hear any problems on my first listen. Big help I am. I will listen again a few times and report back.

    Metal/Rock Song

The bass needs to be punchier - bring up the highs and take out the sub-bass. Also, the drums are too far back the mix....they need more treble too. I quite like the dirty, edgy guitar sound, though. Ooh, one other thing - the rhythm is a bit dodgy in a few places, as if the track is skipping.
