Haha, my logos are actually quite legible in comparison to a lot of other bands in the same genre, some even I can't quite make out.
Thanks for the bit of input, I'll move the tires else where. I am vaguely familiar with the OC703, as I did some extensive reading before posting this. Well...
I have a very small tracking room (10'11''x11'2''x7'5''/6'6'') and I'm looking for a bit of direction in how to optimize this space the best I can with some of your suggestions and experience. I apologize in advance for the lengthy posting.
I've spent the better part of the last three days...
That is a great song, all the way around. I think Danzig slowly lost his mind or, became quite confused over the years though, at least pertaining to his solo stuff. From what I can sum up from his various songs, he's an evil demon without a name just a number. :laughings:
That's brutal. I've never heard any thing good about that company so, I've always ensured to avoid them. I imagine the OP has a nice array of opinions by now, hopefully they will find some thing that works best for them. :drunk:
+1. Yes, why use a plug-in for distortion when you can just use your pedal or amp distortion. Just my opinion but, using as many of your own effects is generally more natural sounding than using plug-ins. If you insist upon using a plug-in fx, you can certainly do that once you've recorded the...
They're not bad little amps, I tried one out before I picked up an old Envoy..which the hipster I bought it from had painted orange with house paint. That's WA State for ya. I was actually looking for another Envoy or Bandit when I moved back to Canada but, ended up settling with an 80's Crate...
I very much understand what you're saying and, I am inclined to agree however, I can think of a few bands and some of their songs which are quite stagnant. Two bands in particular actually, and they became some of the most highly revered, influential and respected musicians within said genre...
Quite an interesting and lengthy discussion in this thread.
I'm a bit torn on the subject honestly, as the message behind all the music and words is important but, at the same time actual lyric content is maybe, 50% vital. The sort of music that I predominantly listen to is really about the...
Was beginning to wonder at first but, thankfully a couple other people mentioned Nick Cave. It still amazes me how some people have never heard of him, even people a generation before me.
I must have missed it but, I didn't notice any one say Johnny Cash.
In no particular order: Trent...
What ever works best for you guys, I think it sounds pretty good myself. Just checked out your guys home page, looks like you lot are having some fun. It's good to see some fellow metal heads on board :D makes me wish we would have documented our studio antics as well, good times man, good times.
Thank-you guys for all your suggestions and aid.
witzendoz, I had stumbled upon the earth loop notion on one of the other threads I checked whilst I was troubleshooting before I decided to finally post, so that was a consideration.
stealth: Turns out your suggestion to check the channels...
If it's not my sound card interfering some how then, it must be the board. I'm using a tower, custom build PC. Even with the drivers updated to Yamaha's, and the device input & output being set to ASIO/Yamaha USB it's still having the same issue. I currently don't have any monitors to monitor...
Did some searching in a few different sections but, I've not been able to fix the problem on my own.
Just picked up my new mixer/interface today, Yamaha MW10c, use to own a MW12 (older one with inputs on the back instead of the top) so I thought I would be fairly prepared to start recording...
Mike, that actually sounds quite nice man. Cymbals/hats are at a nice medium level (not overbearing at all), the kick is solid and the toms sound really great, I'm actually surprised at how well they pan in the mix. Snare is a bit weak but, that's just personal preference I'm sure as, I like my...
I don't think there is much I can add to this other than confirming that 1gb is under par for any thing these days, 2gb seems to just barely cut it. I found EZD w/DFH to be relatively decent on memory, it's EastWest's DFH 2 that was a huge pig on ram.
I'm going to assume that every one is...
nick: I'm inclined to say that I have tried the saving preset and then load on another track thing before but, I don't recall if I tried that on my old bands EP or, if I tried it on some tracks before that when I was just experimenting. Good to know that it's not a fail safe method, as I had my...
I've had a couple Line 6 products myself, starting off with the Toneport GX and then I upgraded to a Spider II 75 watt amp.
Initially the Toneport GX was novel, easy to use, a decent amount of effects, customization and modelling but, it just didn't suffice. I'd actually say the old Fender...
It's better than most other documentaries on the subject, as the people themselves tell the story instead of some one else with second or, third hand information.
I can't say I anticipated finding any fans or musicians of the genre on this forum. However, whilst looking through some old...
